Canvas is our speciality. The Remote Tote® is made from premium No. 8 Heavyduck Canvas, a tightly woven, unwaxed 18 oz cotton cloth originally standardised in 1923 for workwear, tents, tarps and utility bags.
A proper-sized tote with a zip
Our customers asked for a tote with a zip, so we made one. Sized for a beach day or a laptop and change of clothes, it closes securely over the lot, ideal for travel or everyday adventures.

Three internal slip pockets, so your water-bottle, phone and keys stop living at the bottom of the bag. The zip means nothing gets out on the way.

Our HQ and shop are in Bangalow, where we design and prototype our gear and offer repairs. Most of our range is made with trusted partners in India, Indonesia and Pakistan, while our swags and growing Workshop Collection are crafted locally.

What is the difference between the Remote Tote and the Everyday Tote?
The Remote Tote is a zip-top carryall made from extra thick and sturdy unwaxed canvas. It features three internal pockets making it ideal for travel, beach days, and daily carry.
The Everyday Tote has an open top, dual carry handles and a waxed-canvas outer with a waterproof canvas lining. It has a more rugged finish and greater weather resistance.
Choose the Remote Tote for secure closure, organisation and a classic raw canvas finish.
Choose the Everyday Tote for a nostalgic rugged look, quick access, flexible carrying and waxed-canvas character and waterproofing qualities.
Both bags are around 28L in size but differ slightly in measurement.
Is the Remote Tote waterproof?
No. The tightly woven canvas handles light splashes, while sustained rain can soak through. Apply Platypus Wax to the base for extra protection, or choose the waxed canvas Everyday Tote or larger Utility Bag if water resistance is a priority.

If your colour sells out, click “Notify When Back in Stock” to join the restock list. We produce small runs with our trusted partners overseas, and restock timing depends on fabric availability. If a colour is available to purchase, it is in stock and ready to ship.
