The World According to Tarp
Back when I was a kid, my dad and grandpa would drag me along to gather firewood in the bush outside of Orange. The trailer would be hitched up, chainsaws sharpened, splitters and axes loaded and lunch would be made. We’d spend the day amongst two-stroke fumes, sawdust and wood chips, wet bark and mud. It was hard work, but the wood fire at home made it worthwhile. Another essential piece of kit was an old waxed cotton tarp. It was many years old and put to a multitude of tasks. I’ve been looking for that tarp ever since. I’ve finally found it again. ****** me if Remote Projects haven’t exactly recreated the most reliable tarp in Australia. I’ve already put it to work in the back of the truck to cover my own load of firewood home. The smell is the same, the weight is the same, and it’s ruggedness is the same. It’s presence is reassuring and its use will increase. Before long you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it.
Thanks for the great story and amazing review Adam. This is exactly what we have set out to do, to make gear like they used to for people like yourself. Glad the tarp brings back some great memories with your Dad and Grandpa as well. Good times indeed. Cheers, Ross
